Charles Castleman

Among the world's most active performer/pedagogue on the violin, Mr. Castleman has been soloist with the orchestras of Philadelphia, Boston, Brisbane, Chicago, Hong Kong, Moscow, Mexico City, New York, San Francisco, Seoul and Shanghai. A Medalist at Tchaikovsky and Brussels competitions, his Jongen Concerto is included in a Cypres CD set of the 17 best prize-winning performances of the Brussels Concours? 50-year history. He regularly participates in the Park City, Round Top and Sitka festivals in the U.S. His recitals have been broadcast on NPR, BBC, in Berlin and in Paris. Charles Castleman has conducted master-classes in Kiev, London, Montreux, Salzburg, Vienna, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver, and over 50 U.S. Universities.

Philippe Entremont

Mr. Entremont made his professional piano debut at age 16 . He continues to appear as piano soloist with major orchestras throughout the world. His conducting career includes appearances with the Royal Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de France and the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and orchestras of Philadelphia, Minnesota, St Louis, Pittsburgh and San Francisco. The recipient of many awards and honors, Philippe Entremont was appointed Music Director of the Orchestre Colonne de Paris in 1988. He is currently Conductor Laureate of both the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Israel Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Principal Guest Conductor of Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra.

Shirley Givens

Internationally recognized as an artist-teacher, Shirley Givens is currently on the violin faculty of the Julliard School, Mannes College The New School and Peabody Conservatory (Emeritus). Among her many famous students are Joseph Lin, newly appointed 1st Violinist of the famed Juilliard String Quartet, and concert violinist Pamela Frank, who began her studies with the Givens Method, enjoying the Adventures in Violinland Books before moving on to the Tchaikovsky Concerto.  Ms Givens has played at the White House and has performed and taught at the  Casals Festival in Puerto Rico, Yale University (Sanford Fellow), Fontainebleau International Festival, Australian AUSTA Convention et. etc. She was the recipient of the Presidential Scholar Teacher Recognition Award of Education in ceremonies at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
 

George Manahan

Mr. Manahan has distinguished himself throughout the world as one of the foremost conductors of our time. He is especially known in the opera world for his musical guidance of diverse productions. Guest appearances include the symphonies of Atlanta, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Charlotte, San Francisco, and New Jersey (where he served as acting Music Director for four seasons), National Symphony, Juilliard and Manhattan Schools of Music, Warsaw Philharmonic, Music Academy of the West, and Aspen Music Festival. He is a regular guest with the opera companies of Santa Fe, Portland, and Glimmerglass Opera, and opera companies of Seattle, Chicago, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Opera National du Paris, Teatro de Communale de Bologna, the Bergen Festival (Norway), the Casals Festival (Puerto Rico), and Minnesota Opera, where he was principal conductor.

David Michie

Luthier, Philadelphia

At age 13, violinist David Michie became the youngest member of the former Haddonfield Symphony. The concertmaster of the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey since its establishment, Mr. Michie has performed with the Trenton Symphony, the Delaware Valley Philharmonic, Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia, and the Philly Pops, He has played in performances at the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and Alice Tully Hall, and has appeared as violinist throughout Italy, Great Britain, Australia and Canada. He is the founder of David Michie Violins, L.L.C., a full service string instrument dealer on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia which specializes in fine violins, violas and cellos. David Michie studied his craft with Virgilio Capellini where he was a protege of the violin maker in Cremona, Italy.

Jean Montes

Professor, Director of Orchestral Studies
& Coordinator of Strings, Loyola University New Orleans

Cello performances in Iowa City, Green Bay, Akron, Johnstown, and Pittsburgh. His most recent appearances include guest conducting the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (formerly the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra), Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra. Montes led an orchestra in a sold out performance of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Ballet in collaboration with the Metropolitan Ballet project in the Twin Cities. Upcoming guest conducting engagements include Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Richmond, Stafford county and Florida.

Michael Tree

Subsequent to his Carnegie Hall recital debut at the age of 20, Mr. Tree has appeared as soloist with major orchestras, including Philadelphia, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and New Jersey. As a founding member of the Marlboro Trio and Guarneri Quartet, he has played throughout the world. One of the most widely recorded musicians in America, Mr. Tree has recorded nearly 100 chamber works for Columbia, RCI, Sony, Philips, and others. Prominent among these are ten piano quintets and quartets with Artur Rubinstein. Michael Tree has participated in the Marlboro, Spoleto, Aspen, Casals, Taos, Santa Fe and Aspen Festivals.
